Distinguished Service Medal 1998 3 Awarded the National Association of Chiefs of Police Distinguished Service Medal in 1998 and inducted into the American Police Hall of Fame. 

Law Enforcement Purple Heart 1996 

Awarded the Law Enforcement Purple Heart by the National Association of Chiefs of Police for a serious life-threatening Line-of-Duty Injury in 1996.

Paul was selected by the County Commissioners’ Court to create the Office of Personnel and Governmental  Affairs. In this capacity, I was responsible for all general government and personnel management. I also investigated allegations of misconduct filed against the county or any of its employees. I also served simultaneously as the  Chief Deputy for the Hood County Sheriff’s Dept.’s, responsible for the Training Division and the Reserve  Corps.
